"So okay, we're poor. But that's what we are - not who we are." Kay Rice and her kids discuss the stigma of being poor in a rich country. Part of the growing population of working poor in Canada, the Rice family has been forced into transience, constantly on the lookout for affordable adequate housing. The children are normal kids - they like to play and have fun. But they are already conscious of the social scorn that is heaped upon society's disenfranchised. Yes, they wear second-hand clothes and sometimes forage through garbage for food. But why is this considered their fault?

Things to do in DC, there is no place like home.

As I was searching for things to do in DC I came across this website and found it interesting because of the title: "There is no place like home". This reminded me of the wizard of Oz famous phrase. when the kids spoke of the stigma of being poor in a rich country, it made me sad. It is heart warming to know there are people out there like Kay Rice who make a big difference in the lives of kids.

No domestic trend is more threatening to the well-being of our children and to our long-term national security. In addition, it contributes to impaired readiness for education, bad housing, the stresses of dangerous neighborhoods, and poor schools, as well as the stigma of being poor.

I love this video, and I especially love the quote "So okay, we're poor. But that's what we are - not who we are." Kay Rice. There are so many people that fail to realize how lucky they are. Many people are greedy and take many things for granted. Some people who have lte phones opportunities don't take them because they say they are too lazy, but some people would kill for those very same opportunities.

An interesting discussion is worth comment. ka I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
