This film was created by English & Social Studies students at Lucerne Secondary School New Denver, as part of their curriculum in learning about the history of the Japanese Canadian Internment during WWII.
The following is their Artist Statement:
Our biggest goal is to show the viewers how unfair the internment of Japanese Canadians was and to deliver the message that this should never happen again. We used the latest technology which consists of high-tech HD Camera, editing software, and professional audio setups; we were able to communicate the voices of the internees in a more real situation. Our short film uses small snippets of interviews that ties together to create our core message (“let this never happen again”) for our audience. By using and manipulating modern technology, we were able to create a mosaic of voices for our ending, which effectively delivers our core message to the audience.
