This film was created by English & Social Studies students at Lucerne Secondary School New Denver, as part of their curriculum in learning about the history of the Japanese Canadian Internment during WWII.
The following is their Artist Statement:
Our vision behind this video was to showcase how easy the government made it to discriminate another against another race. We were led to believe horrible things through what we refer to as propaganda. Through this video we wanted to portray the hatred that so easily and gently morphed into a trend. We chose this as a great way to communicate the power that the government holds in all societies the ability to scare our communities into anything. The power of fear, and the ability to dislike what we don’t know. Propaganda or Brainwash, whatever you want to call it.
