In this radio montage, we hear from Dr. Frank Chalk (Concordia History professor and Director of MIGS - Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies), artist Shahrzad Arshadi, community organizer Marie-Francoise Sitnam, and historian Kathryn Harvey, about how radio compels them. Radio has been used to promote democratic practice, give voice to individuals and communities, incite hatred, build peace, tell folk tales, share information and music. A collection of voices and excerpts from previous Radio Works! broadcasts celebrating the power of radio. This piece was broadcast on CKUT 90.3 FM on February 28, 2011.
