One day, while attending Ryerson University (Toronto, ON), I discovered that Egerton Ryerson was implicated in the initiation of the residential school system. The discovery led a group of fellow classmates and I to dig deeper, ask questions and find out what steps are being taken to bring this issue to the fore.
In the audio interview, I speak with Monica McKay, coordinator for the Aboriginal student services and programs, who sheds light on what she has discovered about the issue, and how issue can be dealt with, respectfully.
