With rising poverty rates across Canada and much of the industrialized world, this is an increasingly popular theme. A look at the increasing gap between the haves and have-nots through media projects and poems from people who want to see poverty and homelessness become a thing of the past.
Homeless has been a major concern for Olympic critics since Vancouver's winning bid for the 2010 games. To highlight the onling concern, the city's homeless and their allies set up the Olympic Tent Village. Beginning during the games, and lasting for days after, the action was meant to attract public anf media attention to the ongoing homelessness crisis in the city.
