Hello everyone

Well, the project is coming to an end and I, along with the rest of the participants, am feeling a little overwhelmed, excited and anxious. For the youth on this project, the next phase involves hitting the ground running to find employment and/or enrol in school. Several participants will also try to land their first apartment.

So you think your life is stressful?

The video workshop wraps today. For the past 8 weeks, Phyllis Lewis (facilitator) has lead the group through the streets of N.D.G., capturing footage of our neighbourhood and interviewing a variety of citizens around the issue of drug use among youth in our community. After honing their technical skills, a short documentary entitled "Suits, Youth, and Drug Use" was produced (the theme was also addressed in the radio workshop at CKUT with Janice Dayle)

Various partners contributed to this hands-on experience. Several visits to the National Film Board of Canada included a tour of the 3D IMAX Studio, documentary studios and the chance to meet documentary producers. We will also contribute to the CitizenShift website.
